Prisma's Lightsaber snapped to life as she felt the presence of the dark Jedi. The chills of the dark side made her very skin tremble as wave after wave of darkness reverberated through her. Calling upon the living force, she steeled her resolve and stepped headlong into shadow.
A little fanart of a female jedi I have been sketching recently. I feel pretty good about this one as it was sort of an experiment. I don't know how successful it really was... I don't think I really captured the atmosphere very well. I think it was a mistake to fully ink this piece and it may have been better off as just refined pencils. CnC appreciated of course.
I'm not sure what the experiment was but in my opinion it worked out well. I think the inking actually compliments this particular piece. I also think the folds in the sleeves are done particularly well. If you wanted to make it more atmospheric you could always make it darker and the backround less saturated. possibly show some of the red light from the sith's lightsaber on her clothes or face. but all and all i think it stands well on its own.
Thanks for the crit... the thing is, believe it or not, the sith saber was a mild afterthought... funny innit. I think youre right about
having it effect the light sourcing though.. I may be able to do something about that.

"A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind. ... This one a long time have I watched. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph. Adventure. Heh! Excitement. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things."
Yah.. I can understand.. and yet.. My appetite for it seems to be insatiable. heheh

I know this is supposed to be an Unseen Adversary, but my crit is more in the composition of he piece, the rendering IMO is top notch.
Her face is very calm and her stance isn't very defensive at all with the imminent danger of being attacked right in her face. It would work better If she were a little on the defensive looking kick ass ready. Also. if you were to pull back a hair and show her opponent a little more, but possibly only in silhouette to maintain the mystery. Just the tip of the sword isn't working for me. And from her body language it seems more like she's seeing a long lost jedi comrade than an enemy.
Hehehehe, I don't blame you. Star Wars is a good thing. Its just that my brother's gotten me sick of it, he's way too much into it... XD But then again, I'm that much into fantasy, and he's the one cringing at me drawing dragons and sexy-looking demon men. *rolls on the floor laughing*

yeah.. im TOTALLY feelin you here.. the fact is, i didnt even think about putting in the element of the other lightsaber until the piece was over halfway done. so thats why the comp is so screwy.. still... I maybe shouldaworked on making tthe after thought work better... *sigh* live and learn.

One of those practice things that get away from you. I do some of my best work that way. No if I could find the secret to relaxing before I start drawing . . .
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
